Master Plan (Update)
(view online)
The Airport Master Plan is one of many documents governing the operation, planning
and development of the airport. It is mandated, reviewed and approved by the FAA. It
is utilized by the City and the FAA to determine and forecast and accommodate the
growth of the airport. The Airport Master plan is a dynamic documentalways under
review and consideration for modification and update as the needs
and demands of the airport change. Typically, a revision of the
plan is designed to look at least 20 years into the future and
forecast growth and airport needs for that planning period. This
documents drives the Airport Capital Improvement Program, which
outlines and maps the funding of such improvements through
available grant programs.
The main focus of the master plan is aviation infrastructure on the airportrunways, taxiways, parking aprons, and navigational facilities. The Airport Master Plan, as defined by the FAA, does not identify or plan for airport industrial, or non-aviation facilities; those plans must be developed in addition.
